Miami native Marshall L. Davis, Sr., is a proven South Florida community builder who has spent over forty years developing and cultivating the community with the intention of success.
As the legendary, long-time Managing Director of the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center—a premier institution formally renamed in his honor unanimously by Miami-Dade County—Marshall designed a nationally recognized oasis of excellence in the heart of Liberty City. Under his strategic guidance, the Center successfully balanced public budgets, managed multi-million dollar public assets, and utilized the universal language of the arts to transform thousands of local lives. His intentional, sequential methodology guides young people out of underserved zip codes and propels them to the world’s most prestigious stages, including Juilliard, Broadway, and the Academy Awards, as well as NASA and other well-respected careers, such as doctors, lawyers, accountants, and professors.
His leadership at the MLDAHCAC underscores a powerful argument for the economic and social impact of arts education. Beyond self-expression, the arts instill discipline, accountability, and problem-solving skills in our youth—qualities essential for success in both creative and corporate industries. This commitment to workforce development and economic mobility is why MLDAHCAC has sustained funding across various administrations; the return on investment is undeniable.
Davis is ready to utilize his decades of experience in bringing people together to serve as a bold advocate for our community in Congress. Deeply rooted in the daily kitchen-table realities of working families, Marshall is stepping forward to lower the cost of living, protect our seniors and veterans, expand the reach of his work in the arts, and introduce a new cadence of accountability. He believes that the same mastery required to orchestrate a masterpiece—listening deeply, coordinating complex moving parts, and harmonizing completely conflicting voices—is precisely what is needed to solve the socioeconomic crises adversely impacting Florida's 24th Congressional District.
